2001 saw another three Scouts receive their Chief Scouts Awards in November. Lawrence Putt, Luke Garrett and Howard White were the last Scouts for a while to achieve the award. 2001 was the end of an era for the Troop in a number of areas. The last Christmas Card delivery service ran in December, and raised £319. This was also the final year the Troop worked at the Cropredy Concert. Away from fund raising and this was the last year the District ran a Scout football competition. As Adderbury won the trophies (again) we got to keep them forever. A number of activities were affected by the UK wide foot and mouth crisis. The Troop managed to find a site for Summer Camp, much against the odds, but a few activities were cancelled (such as the Cyril Gardner Hike), never to return.
