January 23, 1979 and Adderbury Scout Troop met for the very first time at the Sports and Social Club on Adderbury playing field.   18 lads attended on that first night; by the end of the year the Troop had 25 members.

In 1979 Mike Lidster was the Scout Leader, assisted by Group Scout Leader Peter Jennens, Ken Baker and Peter Green.

The Troop's first ever Summer Camp was held during July at Blackwell Court camp site in Worcestershire.

There was an assault course (Mark Jones is pictured) and Scouts got to use the Troop's brand new fibre glass canoes!

Back in 1979 Scouts did Job Week when they were paid for tasks they completed in the village.   1979's top ten fundraisers were:

During Half Term in October the Patrol Leaders spent a day at Longridge enjoying some water activities.
